Crypto investor loses $2.6 million in zero transfer scam 🔷 Scammers tricked a user twice in three hours using the “zero transfer” method, an advanced form of phishing. The attackers send zero-amount transactions to fake addresses, impersonating them as trusted ones. 🔷 The first transaction was for 843,000 USDT, the second — 1.75 million USDT. 🔷 The victim saw a fake address in the transaction history and mistook it for their own, which led to the funds being sent to the scammers again. 🔷 This method does not require access to private keys and is becoming more common in the crypto space. 🔷 Experts advise checking recipient addresses manually and not relying only on transaction history.
